Hi, I’m Remy Hunter. I’m a professional actors casting headshot photographer offering flexible, no-obligation sessions. Natural light is my specialism and I have been photographing actors since 2001. Natural light is never the same which keeps me on my toes. This means that I never treat my clients in a factory-processed way as I have to adapt to whatever the weather is doing on the day.
As an actor, you are used to being directed so for our shoot, we will collaborate with me directing you for literally every shot taken with me getting you to express emotions and characters in certain scenarios. This approach has helped many of my clients enjoy their headshot session as it focuses them without an awkward monastic silence. As you will be constantly focusing on my direction, the time will fly and I guarantee that you will enjoy your session. Our session will be a collaboration with an aim to get as much variety in the images as possible.Â
About me
I come from an artistic background and my journey as a photographer started in 1993. I went on a exchange trip with school to Prague. I spent a week and took with me a cheap throw-away camera. The images weren’t great but I fell in love with the city. I went back a year or two later and took a professional camera spending an entire week taking nothing but photos in black and white. A couple of years later I had to decide what to do with my life and eventually ended up at at the Norwich School of Art and Design and studied fine art. Upon graduating in 2001 I soon photographed my first actor, a friend of a friend. We spent an hour shooting on Primrose Hill with a couple of rolls of film. From that moment on I was hooked.Â
In the early noughties I was briefly an assistant to a handful of photographers. The biggest lesson I learnt from them was how important it is to collaborate with the client and this is something that is at the centre of how I work to this day. My way is not the be all and end all. There will be no factory-processing conveyor-belting with me. I will listen to what it is exactly you are after and between us, we will capture headshots that you are happy with and will get you seen.
