About me
‘Natural light keeps me on my toes which is why I will never treat you in a factory processed way and your images will be as individual as you are’.
Hi, I’m Remy Hunter. I’m a professional actors casting headshot photographer specialising in natural light and have been photographing actors since 2001.
I come from an artistic background and went to the Norwich School of Art and Design (Now Norwich University of the Arts) and studied fine art. Upon graduating in 2001 I soon photographed my first actor, a friend of a friend. We spent an hour shooting on Primrose Hill with a couple of rolls of film (yes, it was that long ago!). From that moment on I was hooked.Â
In the early noughties I was briefly an assistant to a handful of photographers. The biggest lesson I learnt from them was how important it is to collaborate with the client and this is something that is at the centre of how I work to this day. My way is not the be all and end all. I will listen to what it is exactly you are after and photograph you in a way that is 100% comfortable for you and will be open to being flexible if the need arises.
How I work
Covid was a blessing in disguise for me. Pre-Covid, I was mainly a studio headshot photographer but since 2020 I have shot outdoors in the City of London for a majority of the time. To say I love shooting in natural light is an understatement! No two days are the same light wise and come rain, wind or sunshine, I have to capture professional headshots that represent my clients on their best day.
As I love shooting outdoors so much, I use natural light in my home studio and I have recreated as closely as I can the busy background with plenty of depth.
As an actor, you are used to being directed so I will direct you from behind the camera by getting you to roleplay characters in certain situations or to act out emotions. As you will be constantly focusing on my direction, the time will fly and I guarantee that you will enjoy your session!Â
